For my list of 2018 Fantasy Football Week 9 wide receivers to watch, I focused on three players.
A big trade could affect the Fantasy production of two different wide receivers, and one rookie has a very favorable matchup this week.
Let’s jump right in and take a look at the three wide receivers to watch in Week 9…
Week 9 Wide Receivers to Watch, No. 3: Courtland Sutton
From Weeks 1-8, Demaryius Thomas totaled 56 targets and and 36 receptions. The veteran receiver also led the Denver Broncos in red-zone targets, with eight.
But Thomas is now a member of the Houston Texans, which should give Sutton a chance to increase his Fantasy production.
The 23-year old receiver was drafted in Round 2 of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he has the size to be a huge red-zone threat (6-foot-4, 216 pounds). At SMU, Sutton balled out for three years. He posted a 49-862-9 stat line in 2015, a 76-1,246-10 stat line in 2016, and a 68-1,085-12 stat line in 2017.
He was also praised for his blocking abilities in his draft profile, which is good. Rookies can lose playing time if they aren’t ready to block at the NFL level.
Sutton and the Broncos will face the Texans in Week 8, which won’t be an easy contest.

The Texans are allowing the eighth-fewest Fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
However, Sutton and Thomas both should have extra motivation for this game. Thomas wants to show the Broncos they made a mistake by trading him, and Sutton wants to prove he can fill in for Thomas. It will be a solid showdown.
Sutton is currently owned in 59.4% of ESPN leagues.
Week 9 Wide Receivers to Watch, No. 2: Keke Coutee
Speaking of Thomas, I want to see how his signing affects Coutee’s Fantasy production.
Both have different skill sets and will be utilized differently, but Coutee is dealing with a hamstring injury, and we just don’t know how involved Thomas will be in Week 9. We also don’t know if he’s had enough time to build any type of rapport with DeShaun Watson.
Coutee had two solid weeks early in the season, but he’s started to fade.
The rookie receiver is currently owned in 22.7% of ESPN leagues.
Week 9 Wide Receivers to Watch, No. 1: D.J. Moore
Moore wasn’t very involved with the offense early in the season, but he’s starting to see more work.
He only caught two passes from Weeks 1-3, but he’s averaged four receptions and 56 receiving yards per game since then. He also has six rushing attempts on the year.
His increased involvement is promising, and he has a juicy contest in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So far this season, the Buccaneers have allowed the second-most Fantasy points to wide receivers. The Over/Under for this game is 54 points, which means Vegas is expecting a lot of scoring.
For DFS players, Cam Newton and Moore could make a nice stack.
Moore is currently owned in just 40% of ESPN leagues.
