Will Aaron Rodgers play in Week 2?
As of right now, Fantasy players won’t have any new information until after the Green Bay Packers practice on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Coach Mike McCarthy said that he isn’t concerned about Rodgers’ lack of reps this week, and he also said that the veteran quarterback is feeling better.
But if he can’t go, you need to have backup plan.
If you only have Rodgers on your team or don’t trust the second quarterback on your roster, these are three potential streaming options…
Quarterbacks to Start if Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Play in Week 2, No. 3: Jimmy Garoppolo
Garoppolo was in the top five on ESPN for most dropped quarterbacks this week, and he’s only owned in 76% of leagues now.
He struggled against the Minnesota Vikings, but he should be able to bounce back against the Detroit Lions.
As we all saw, the Lions made the players on the New York Jets look like Fantasy Football studs…

Quincy Enunwa posted a 6-63-1 stat line, Robbery Anderson hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass, and Isaiah Crowell rushed for 102 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns.
Marquise Goodwin might be on the sidelines, but Garoppolo has plenty of weapons with Pierre Garcon, Dante Pettis, and George Kittle.
Quarterbacks to Start if Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Play in Week 2, No. 2: Tyrod Taylor
For the year, I’m not a big fan of Tyrod Taylor.
Eventually, I’m expecting Baker Mayfield to win the starting job.
But against the New Orleans Saints, he has a great matchup.
And he’s still owned in under 50% of ESPN leagues right now.
Ryan Fitzpatrick looked like the best quarterback in the league against the Saints, as he racked up 43.2 Fantasy points. Taylor has Jarvis Landry and Duke Johnson to target on short passes, Josh Gordon and Antonio Callaway to target deep, and David Njoku as a huge red-zone target.
He can also generate Fantasy points on the ground.
Against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Taylor rushed for 77 yards and scored a touchdown.
Quarterbacks to Start if Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Play in Week 2, No. 1: Case Keenum
Oakland surrendered 33 points to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, and Keenum has enough weapons with the Broncos to have a strong Fantasy performance.
Against the Seattle Seahawks, Keenum did throw three interceptions, but he also paired that with three touchdowns and 329 passing yards. That was good enough for 19.2 Fantasy points.
He’s on the same page with his receivers, as Emmanuel Sanders hauled in 10 of his 11 targets, and Demaryius Thomas caught six of his 11 targets.
