Week 1 2018 Fantasy Football Rankings: The team looks different, but Aaron Rodgers still has enough weapons to win.
Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison, and Jimmy Graham will all be available to catch passes. Pass-catching specialist Ty Montgomery is dealing with a foot injury, but he’s expected to be ready to go in Week 1.
The Over/Under for the meeting between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears is 47.5, which means Las Vegas expects plenty of points to be scored in this game.
But there’s four reasons why I also wouldn’t be surprised if Ben Roethlisberger has a huge Week 1…
First, he has a ton of weapons this year: Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington, and Vance McDonald. That’s a hard group to cover.
Second, Big Ben is going to get more control of the offense. He has a better rapport with his new offensive coordinator, Randy Fichtner. Under Fichtner, Roethlisberger will be allowed to call more no-huddle plays. Allowing the veteran quarterback more control could help the offense become more productive.
Third, Le’Veon Bell will most likely miss Week 1 at this point. This could force the offense to focus more on passing.
Finally, the Steelers may try to blowout the Cleveland Browns to show Bell that they can win without him. Some of his teammates are upset with how Bell has handled the situation, so there’s something here that can’t be calculated in a spreadsheet: Pride.
Pride could make this one of the top offenses to have exposure to in Week 1.
Below, you can see my full Week 1 2018 Fantasy Football rankings for each position. I will have Bell still ranked until he is officially ruled out.
